The Source of Drinking Water and Water Filters

Many residents take their running H2O for granted and don't question its source. The water we consume and use everyday comes from a variety of sources. Some of these sources may not always keep the H2O pure which is why many residents use water filters in their home to clean the H2O before use. Filters can make the water taste and smell better for residents. Although water is natural and comes from many natural sources, there are still many contaminants that are harmful to the health of residents and need to be removed in order to make the H2O completely safe for consumption. Water filters are a great solution for many families looking for clean and great tasting water for their home.

One source of H2O that can be taken into water treatment plants is deep surface groundwater. This is water that could have fallen as rain decades ago and gotten trapped underground. It is pumped up through rocks and other solid forms before being taken into the treatment plant and cleaned. This type of H2O can have heightened levels of solids that have dissolved present in it. Most of these solids are removed by the water treatment system at the plant but many smaller particles can still be present in tap water. The use of water filters can easily reduce the amount of even the smallest particles of solids that can still be present.

Shallow ground waters are another source of water for the general public. This H2O is also from fallen rain but is usually used in wells because it is high in the ground's surface and can be extracted easily. This type of water often has bacteria and sediments of toxic metals such as zinc or copper. Many residents who get their daily water from wells attach water filters to their taps to ensure the removal of these bacteria and particles of metal.

Another source of water is upland lakes and reservoirs. These H2O sources are often high in algae content. These sources generally are shielded from contamination and protected from many sources of pollution but natural bacteria levels in these waters can sometimes become high and unstable. While water treatment centers are able to remove most of these contaminants, additional water filters in the home can make the water a higher quality and healthier for residents.

Water is often found in rivers, canals and low land reservoirs before it is sent to H2O treatment plants. These are great sources of water for the public but water from these sources can sometimes contain high bacteria levels and dissolved solid particles. This H2O needs an extensive filter before it is able to be safely consumed by residents. The water treatment process that is performed at water plants is substantial at the removal of these types of contaminants but for great quality H2O, water filters may also be needed to clean the water. The use of water filters in addition to the water purification system at the water plant can make the H2O high in quality and healthy for consumption.
